Python Django Developer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Python / Django Developer with 4+ years of hands-on experience to build robust backend systems, high-throughput APIs, custom middlewares, and seamless third-party integrations. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Linux environments, excellent English communication, strong teamwork capabilities, and a passion for scalable software engineering.

Key Responsibilities

• •Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, secure, and scalable backend services and REST APIs using Python and Django / Django REST Framework.
• •Architect and implement custom Django middlewares, authentication pipelines, and third-party API integrations.
• •Administer, configure, and optimize Linux server environments, background workers (Celery), and async task queues.
• •Optimize relational databases (PostgreSQL), complex query performance, indexing, and data caching strategies (Redis).
• •Build and maintain media streaming solutions and high-speed, reliable file transfer pipelines.
• •Collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product leads, and cross-functional team members in an agile environment.
• •Participate in code reviews, write comprehensive automated unit/integration tests, and ensure high engineering standards.

Requirements & Qualifications

• •4+ years of professional software engineering experience specializing in Python and Django / Django REST Framework.
• •Strong grasp of Linux OS, shell scripting, server administration, and deployment environments.
• •Deep expertise in backend architecture, API design, middleware development, and third-party integrations.
• •Proficiency with database modeling, PostgreSQL performance tuning, and Redis caching.
• •Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and strong collaboration / team player mindset.
• •Solid experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Docker containerization, and modern development workflows.
• •Ability to work in a hybrid setup with regular collaboration at our Sankhamul, Kathmandu office.

Nice to Have

• •Hands-on experience with media streaming protocols (HLS, RTMP, WebRTC) or multimedia processing (FFmpeg).
• •Experience with large-scale file transfer, chunked uploads, and object storage technologies (S3, MinIO, CDN pipelines).
• •English for Developers certification (e.g., freeCodeCamp B1 or A2 English for Developers).
• •Familiarity with asynchronous Python frameworks (FastAPI, Celery, asyncio, WebSockets).
