Backend Engineer (Python / Django)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer with 2+ years of experience in client projects using Python and Django to design, implement, and maintain scalable web services, clean APIs, database architectures, and AI-powered integrations.

Key Responsibilities

• •Design, build, and maintain scalable REST APIs and microservices using Python and Django / Django REST Framework.
• •Design and optimize relational database schemas, complex queries, and migrations using PostgreSQL.
• •Implement authentication, authorization, caching strategies, and third-party API integrations.
• •Leverage modern development toolchains and AI-assisted workflows for efficient backend engineering.
• •Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code adhering to software engineering best practices.
• •Collaborate with frontend engineers and project managers to ship client deliverables on schedule.

Requirements & Qualifications

• •2+ years of verified professional experience in backend engineering on client projects using Python and Django / DRF.
• •Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• •Adept with modern development toolchains, Linux environments, and AI-assisted coding tools.
• •Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL), SQL query optimization, and ORM usage.
• •Experience designing and securing RESTful APIs and background job processing.
• •Proficiency with Git, code quality tooling, and CI/CD pipelines.
• •Ability to work in a hybrid setup with regular collaboration at our Sankhamul, Kathmandu office.

Nice to Have

• •English for Developers certification (e.g. freeCodeCamp B1 or A2 English for Developers).
• •Familiarity with caching (Redis), NoSQL databases, or message queues.
• •Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and automated CI/CD pipelines.
